Reader's Workshop - Characters

We continue to enjoy our time in Reader's Workshop. We have been looking at CHARACTERS and how knowing about them can help us understand our books better. We began our discussion with a book called Tacky where we discussed Character Traits. Then we worked with the book Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street to look at character traits in more depth. We continue to use what we are practicing as we read our own personal books. We used a book called Dancing in the Wings to compare our characters to us using a Venn Diagram. Recently, we met in small groups to create timelines about how our characters change throughout the story. Ms. Akerley used the book Thank you Mr. Faulker to model this for us!
